West Elk Evening

This is a 7" x 5" original watercolor, ink, and gouache painting on aquabord. Framed in a clean, simple, walnut floater frame. 
 
"West Elk Evening" depicts one of my all-time favorite scenes outside of Crested Butte, Colorado as my best friend and I climbed upward on the side of Gothic Mountain one perfect summer evening. The hills were lit with streaks of gold peaking through moody blue clouds on the horizon, and the wildflowers were littering the ground below.
